Improving the looks of your website is not only aesthetically appealing, but it’s beneficial for the user, too.

There are many things you can do to improve the look of your website. Whether that’s removing stock images, disabling Google Ads, or choosing a vibrant theme.

In this article, I’ll provide you with a few more tips to help you improve the look of your website.

Start with a plan to improve the look of your website

To begin with, you need to start with a plan to improve a websites looks.

Without a plan, you’ll struggle to make a difference.

So, I recommend sitting down and brainstorming ideas, looking at your current website, and searching for areas that could be improved.

If you’re unsure, you can always ask a friend, a customer, or someone else. All input is good input, no matter how difficult it may be to hear.

Remove stock images from your important pages

Stock images on websites are not the best. However, for blog posts, they’re usually accepted, especially if you use a premium service, such as Adobe Stock.

But on the other hand, if you are using stock images on your home page, about page (or similar pages), then you should look to use alternative images.

Stock images are generic – they take away from your content and make it seem mundane.

If possible, add a picture of yourself or your business. This builds trust with your audience, is more personal, and also improves a websites looks.

Navigation is key

While your website may be dressed in fancy graphics and a vibrant color scheme, if the navigation is poor, then the rest of that stuff won’t matter.

So, navigation is key.

Ensure to map out your navigation on paper first, later implementing internal links between the appropriate pages for a better user experience.

Implement custom images and graphics

I have briefly discussed this already. However, you should look to implement custom images and graphics where possible.

Examples of images and graphics you may choose to include are Instagram posts, Twitter captions, quotes, images of you and your business, and illustrations.

You can also add graphs or tables if necessary and other visually appealing content.
