Emily C. Heath.<br \/>\n<div class=\"su-quote su-quote-style-default su-quote-has-cite\"><div class=\"su-quote-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">I&#8217;m a religious person with a lifelong passion for civil rights, so this is of great interest to me. So much so, that I believe we all need to determine whether our religious liberties are indeed at risk. So, as a public service, I&#8217;ve come up with this little quiz. I call it &#8220;How to Determine if Your Religious Liberty Is Being Threatened in Just 10 Quick Questions.<span class=\"su-quote-cite\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/rev-emily-c-heath\/how-to-determine-if-your-religious-liberty-is-being-threatened-in-10-questions_b_1845413.html\" target=\"_blank\">Rev. Emily C. Heath<\/a><\/span><\/div><\/div>\nI took the test myself. \u00a0It&#8217;s entertaining, but it also goes to say a lot about how we consider ourselves within religious affiliation. \u00a0I&#8217;m a Christian and proud to claim Christ. \u00a0However, I&#8217;m not proud about some of the backward folk who claim the same faith, but live with fear and ugliness in their hearts because their judgement of others without recourse of God&#8217;s revealing love. \u00a0Yeah those people&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2>Here&#8217;s the bottom line<\/h2>\n<p>If any of the statements below apply to the discourse of having your religious liberties taken, there is a strong chance that you are oppressing the religious liberties of others. This is the point where I would invite you to refer back to the tenets of your faith, especially the ones about your neighbors.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Others are allowed to go to religious services of their own choosing.<\/li>\n<li>Some states refuse to enforce my own particular religious beliefs on marriage on those two guys in line down at the courthouse.<\/li>\n<li>I am unable to force others to not use birth control.<\/li>\n<li>I am not allowed to force others to pray the prayers of my faith publicly.<\/li>\n<li>I am no longer allowed to use my faith to bully gay kids with impunity.<\/li>\n<li>Others are allowed to have access books, movies and websites that I do not like.<\/li>\n<li>My religious group is not allowed to use public funds, buildings and resources as we would like, for whatever purposes we might like.<\/li>\n<li>My own religious group is not given status as the official faith of my country.<\/li>\n<li>A religious community I do not like wants to build a house of worship in my community.<\/li>\n<li>Public school science classes are teaching science.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I&#8217;ve grown up knowing people from\u00a0diverse and varying backgrounds and faith. \u00a0There are an elect handful who I&#8217;ve known that adhere to a religious ideology; that others who believe differently need to change their ways to be more like &#8211; themselves. \u00a0I never completely understood\u00a0this because it never felt right, especially when going to Sunday service then speaking so ill about others&#8230; \u00a0So many crazies&#8230; \u00a0That&#8217;s where it comes from and no, our religious freedoms are not at risk. \u00a0If anything, we risk our own salvation at the expense of others because why? \u00a0We think differently?<br \/>\nThat&#8217;s all.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I read an interesting article on Huffington Post written by Rev.
