Was I making the right choice? Was Kim the right person to marry? Would she make me happy?<span class=\"su-quote-cite\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sethadamsmith.com\/2013\/11\/02\/marriage-isnt-for-you\/\" target=\"_blank\">Seth Adam<\/a><\/span><\/div><\/div>\nSeth&#8217;s father gave him a very nice outline of what exactly marriage is about&#8230;<br \/>\n&#8220;Seth, you\u2019re being totally selfish. So I\u2019m going to make this really simple:\u00a0marriage isn\u2019t for <em>you<\/em>. You don\u2019t marry to make yourself happy, you marry to make someone else happy. More than that, your marriage isn\u2019t for yourself, you\u2019re marrying for a family. Not just for the in-laws and all of that nonsense, but for your future children. Who do you want to help you raise <em>them<\/em>? Who do you want to influence\u00a0<em>them<\/em>? Marriage isn\u2019t for you. It\u2019s not about you.
