Observable Distance

Observable Distance

Everything is right under our feet or a flight on an airplane away.  Then one day in the distance our human eye observes something beyond the reach of any human foothold.  Or seemingly so.  We can send a satellite to take photos, see up close and send data that tells us all we want to know about the object but cannot physically reach it ourselves.  Yet it is something we observe in the distance, in our field of sight, for a moment.
Imagination can project whatever our mind yields; the desirable attributes and purpose of the object.  We can apply certain ideas and concepts of it’s existence.   In the end, it is yet something unreachable.  Even if we were able to ie. walk on the moon, the closest of what seems an infinite number of cosmic bodies, we must still be separated from a physical contact by means of a wall ie. space suit.
However, once again our minds conceive there being in some distant galaxy, perhaps an alternate universe, a cosmic body which we can indeed inhabit.  Something our bare feet can touch upon with confidence it will provide a hospitable environment.  This is quite an encouraging thought to our finite mind; there’s something out there that is a compatible body to our own planet. A body with such similarity it’s existence is much like our own and our own much like it is.  All that it is matches what we are and have.
I’m writing this as an analogy to finding the right person as a partner in life.  Life being the infinite and my existence the cosmic body and my mind the searching light.  My signals are the beacon of searching.  I’m looking forward to showing the maturity gained in the time of my existence as a human and sharing that with another.  It would never be like before.  Mistakes I’ve made in the past are the keystone of how I’ve learned to be better.
Now a few quotes on mistakes (because they can be viewed as negative or – positive)…

“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.”
― Albert Einstein
“When you find your path, you must not be afraid. You need to have sufficient courage to make mistakes. Disappointment, defeat, and despair are the tools God uses to show us the way.”
― Paulo Coelho, Brida
“To err is human, to forgive, divine.”
― Alexander Pope, An Essay on Criticism
“If people refuse to look at you in a new light and they can only see you for what you were, only see you for the mistakes you’ve made, if they don’t realize that you are not your mistakes, then they have to go.”
i
“Have no fear of perfection – you’ll never reach it.”
― Salvador Dalí
“Well, we all make mistakes, dear, so just put it behind you. We should regret our mistakes and learn from them, but never carry them forward into the future with us.”
― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Avonlea
“We learn from failure, not from success!”
― Bram Stoker, Dracula
“Good judgment comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgment.”
― Rita Mae Brown, Alma Mater
“We are all mistaken sometimes; sometimes we do wrong things, things that have bad consequences. But it does not mean we are evil, or that we cannot be trusted ever afterward.”
― Alison Croggon
“I make mistakes like the next man. In fact, being–forgive me–rather cleverer than most men, my mistakes tend to be correspondingly huger.”
― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
“Makin’ mistakes ain’t a crime, you know. What’s the use of having a reputation if you can’t ruin it every now and then?”
― Simone Elkeles, Perfect Chemistry
“I am glad that I paid so little attention to good advice; had I abided by it I might have been saved from some of my most valuable mistakes.”
― Edna St. Vincent Millay

I only have today so this is what I focus on; loving others despite their perceived wrongs against me.  If I can’t let that go it isn’t fair to expect to be loved despite the same.
