If you’ve just started your website, there’s nothing more exciting than receiving your first few visitors. However, getting that initial traffic can take days, but in most cases, weeks or even months.

To speed up the process, or at least to give you some leg to stand on, we’ve gathered together four ways to generate instant traffic to your brand new website.

Post your content to relevant Facebook groups for more traffic

If you want to get word of your website out there, you should join relevant Facebook groups to your niche and share your content here. It’s important not to spam these groups, but instead, actively engage with the community and share the occasional post.

Not only will this help generate your first few visitors, but you may end up finding a few loyal readers or customers, too.

Share your content on social media

Alongside posting your content to relevant Facebook groups, you should share your content on social media, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. In particular, Pinterest is an incredible opportunity for traffic and engagement in a wide variety of different niches.

Guest blog on other websites for increased traffic

Third, you should guest post to other websites where possible. Reach out to popular blogs in your niche and ask if you can guest post for free. So long as you create a solid proposal, you should land a few gigs.

This is your chance to send readers to your website, users that are already interested in you and your content. Also, writing these guest posts with a backlink or two will improve your domain authority, further increasing your website in the rankings.

Ask friends and family members to share your content

Finally, you should ask friends and family members to share your content where possible. Usually, both friends and family members will be fully supportive and more than willing to spread the word, perhaps earning you a few new followers, but certainly gaining a handful of new website visits.

Besides, you never know, sharing far and wide your content could get in front of the right people, perhaps even going viral.
